St. Thomas Aquinas Feast Day
St. Thomas Aquinas Day is primarily celebrated on January 28.
This date commemorates the translation of his relics to Toulouse, France, in 1369. While his actual death occurred on March 7, 1274, the Church officially moved the feast day to January to avoid conflicts with the Lenten season, ensuring he could be honored with greater liturgical flexibility.
The college celebrated the St. Thomas Aquinas Day with a seminar event through hearing about the history, lesson and theology of St. Thomas Aquinas. The event was also, concluded by inviting the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), a non-profit educational and service organization that empowers women to succeed and advance in engineering, to grace the occasion.
